Operation Band Aid Gala Auction Information

Instructions: Auction items and bid sheets are located in the ballroom gallery. To bid on an item, enter your bid number and amount on the corresponding bid sheet. Please honor the minimum bid increments. Note that some items are posted with a opening bid. For your convenience, you may purchase selected items at the indicated “buy it now” price. If you have questions, contact Donella Anderson at table 8.

Bids will be accepted until 10:00 pm. You may pay for your items with cash, check, Visa, or MasterCard between 10:15 and 11:00 pm. Please make checks payable to Macomb Band Boosters.

Note: Auction items 1-14 commemorate the Macomb High School Marching Bomber Band’s field shows from the last 15 years, the lifetime of the current band uniforms. These “marching baskets” express the amazing creativity and generosity of parents of Marching Bomber Band alumni.

  1. “The Sun Never Sets” (2009) – “Keep Calm and Carry On” with this assortment of British items: tea, mugs, toffee, earrings, purse, and more are contained in a lovely red wire basket. Thank-you, Kathy & Mike Burdick.
  2. “Asian Reflections” (2008) – Relax and reflect with things Asian: Teapot, wind chimes, candlesticks, soap, bamboo plant, decorative rocks, $20 Yen Ching certificate, tea tray, and photo book of the 2008 marching band season. Thank-you, O’Donnell-Brown family.
  3. “Les Miserables” (2007 & 1997) – What could be more French than a picnic? This wicker basket contains everything you need: an insulated wine/cheese tote with cutting board, wine trivet, wine coasters, picnic tablecloth, towels, wine, sparkling lemonade, cookies, jam, candies, and figs.   4. “Music For a Festival” (2006) – Festival … Fiesta—it’s all a party. Have one with this Koozie tub; $10 Guadalajara gift card; margarita bottle; fun party goblets; dip mixes from Carmie’s Kitchen; snap firecrackers; party napkins; and party blowers.   5. “Estancia” (2005) – Enjoy a “south-of-the-border” evening with this basket featuring the music, wines, and recipes of Argentina plus ceramic cups handcrafted by an MHS band alumni parent! Thank-you, Ed & Mary Gettinger.
  6. “The Planets” (2004) – A wonderful assortment of items to enjoy on planet Earth: red and white wine; chocolate; peanuts; crackers; a plant; and gift cards to McDonalds, Hy-Vee, and Dairy Queen. Thank-you, Sue Ferguson.
  7. “Les Miserables” (2003) – Ooo-la-la! What could be more elegant than French soaps? Several are included in this basket lined with vintage doilies. A pair of silver-plated candlesticks and candles add to the ambiance along with a fleur-de-lis teapot and bookends. Thank-you, Mary Margaret Harris.
  8. “West Side Story” (2002) – Each item in this musical basket has a connection to a song in the movie. Check out the list on this basket filled with yummy treats: marshmallows, cheesecake mix, Sauvignon Blanc wine, West Side Story DVD, wine cooler, Two-Hearted ale, candy dish and gummy sharks, tea bag, “LOVE” decoration, bagel chips, jet dry dishwasher rinse, Tony’s Creole seasoning, and Land Shark beer.   9. “New World Symphony” (2001) – Dvorak composed a tribute to the New World and this basket is a tribute of American items: wax warmer and four wax tarts; embroidered hand towel; apple cider mix; “God Bless America” grocery pad; CD of Dvorak’s New World symphony; oval wire basket; two tickets to Peoria Symphony Orchestra September 18 concert, which features a portion of New World symphony.   10. “Disney Millenium Celebration” (2000) – Who doesn’t love Disney? This basket is chock full of fun things and topped with balloons!   11. “Hymnsong of a Tune by Philip Bliss and Other Songs” (1999) – Flowers represent this potpourri show of lovely songs. Fresh flowers, dried flowers, and other flower items abound!
