Band Notes, Sep 13-19

Grade(s):

Great job yesterday to the Marching Bombers! You looked and sounded fabulous. We still have a long way to go, but yesterday proved that you have the stuff to go the distance.

Uniform notes – Make sure your student ALWAYS hangs up the uniform properly OUTSIDE of the garment bag after each performance. This will extend the life of the uniform and the integrity of its shape. Some of the pant leg lengths were a little off yesterday and should be adjusted. The front of the pant should rest at the laces, with little to no break, and be tacked (simple stitch to keep it in place). The back of the pant should be January 2,-March 4," lower than the front, creating a slight diagonal across the shoe, again tacking a simple stitch. The snaps inside the legs are fixed at January 2," intervals so the back should be one snap longer/lower than the front. Attached is a photo for reference. The break in the front is too much, but it gives you a better idea of what I mean.

Show shirts – Some parents yesterday mentioned buying our show shirts for this year. I can submit another order but it will take 2 weeks to deliver after we submit the order. If you are interested, please email Jeanette Moon at jeanette17390@hotmail.com and specify number and shirt size. Regular sizes are $15 and 2X and above are $17. Please send your request by Wednesday and I will send the order.

ILMEA students – Please sign up on my office door for after school lessons this week and next to get ahead of the audition game. If your teachers allow, please create a pass for me to sign for you to come to the band room during the school day for extra practice when Mr. Rosenblume and I are there.
